About Us

At age 15, Jim Caione started his career in wood restoration, working part-time and summers in a small German owned company.  After finishing high school, Jim joined the company on a full-time basis and continued practicing his craft for six years. He started repairing furniture in customer’s homes at night and on weekends to earn extra money.  These side jobs quickly grew into a thriving business and Jim decided to open his own company, restoring furniture as well as touching up and repairing furniture in client’s homes and offices.  In 1986, Jim moved to a bigger shop just outside of New York City.  With just one helper, Jim continued to build his clientele.  In 1988 Jim moved once again to Ossing, New York, located in Westchester Country, a suburb of New York City. Now working with two helpers, Jim continued to grow his company, The Westchester Furniture Repair Company.  In 2002, the operation expanded to a new shop and showroom called Hudson Valley Furniture Service, which is centrally located to better serve customers.

Dear Friends, Before the Japanese and Germans demonstrated the importance of quality, many American automobile makers built planned obsolescence into their vehicles.  After a few years, the customer was forced to trade in the car as a result of inevitable rust or mechanical failure.  That concept was proven worthless, consuming both human and natural resources.  What were they thinking? My wife, Carol and I have furnished our home with the same quality pieces that we offer to you.  After serving our family faithfully for many years, the pieces are worth more today than when we acquired them.  Our furniture, with proper care, will serve your family for generations to come.  Unlike those early automobiles, they should only gain in value.
